History

The Omaha Vineyard began as a handful of people formed a home group in 1994. This group met together for nearly two years to worship, pray, and seek God.  Meanwhile, Scott and Lynette Ross began to sense that God wanted them to plant a church. At the Omaha group’s invitation, the Ross’ moved their family to Omaha from the Vineyard church in Monrovia, CA, in August of 1996. The Omaha Vineyard was officially planted in October of that year.

The group first met in a home, then at 96th and M Streets and later moved to a classroom at the Westside Community Conference Center for Saturday night meetings. Easter of 1998 saw the step of faith of committing to the rental of the gymnasium at that building for Sunday morning services. After 6 years of summer Sundays with no air conditioning and drafty winter gatherings, the Omaha Vineyard took another step of faith and signed the lease at a place on 133rd and I Streets, where we were for almost 6 years.

The journey of faith has continued as we have recently moved into our new facility at 84th and Center in Canfield Plaza. God has done some AMAZING things to get us here, forever proving His faithfulness and love for us. We would love the opportunity to share with you the entire story of these past few months… since it’s too long to post. ;) Give us a call… we’ll put on the coffee and sit down for a chat!
